Desert Rose of Yemen
alone in barren land ,
watered by the tears
and the blood of the martyrs
which drained through the sand.
Your flower smiles at the sun
hoping that one day
butterflies will fly freely,
and move from one flower to another;
peacefully.
Likewise I send a message in a bottle
and leave it floating on the calm Mediterrean sea:
Peace, Salam, Shalom –
pentecostal phenomenon.
Desert Rose of Yemen,
which survived the scorching sun
and the drought,
long will you live
in everlasting peace.
